A note on Legacy BYOK plans (incl. LTDs)

If you are on a legacy plan- thank you!

You were our first users and took a chance on us before most people knew what we were building, and we haven't forgotten that!

First, your plan hasn't changed

When we moved to credit-based pricing a few months ago, we kept your plan as it was. You're still on $0/month, using your own API keys from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and others. That's what you signed up for, and that's what you have.

If you want to benefit from the Agent and everything that comes with it, you’ll need to change your pricing to usage-based and pay Juma directly, which in turn will pay Anthropic, OpenAI, Microsoft, AWS, Google, etc. for you.

This will not change your payment plan, just the beneficiary of your usage payments.

From an LLM wrapper to an Autonomous Agent

When we introduced the Juma Agent, an orchestrator which autonomously completes tasks, managing model routing through BYOK connections became unfeasible and ~5x more expensive for you. Here’s why:

1. Routing multiple AI models (we have ~150 model vendors that can be selected by the agent) which work differently for text and images.
2. Zero-data retention agreements with Anthropic, OpenAI, Microsoft, AWS, Google
3. Prompt caching on a server level which brings ~80+% cost reduction

There are many more smaller edge cases but these are the main ones.

If you are on a legacy plan and are using your own keys, you cannot benefit from the above.

Using Juma interface is different from using models through Juma.

Zero-data retention and prompt caching are resolved on an account level.

Everyone who uses models through Juma billing, combines together in one large big and has platform-wide optimizations and bargaining power against Anthropic, OpenAI, Microsoft, AWS, Google.

When you are bringing your own key, you are essentially using Juma as a wrapper but your relationship with Anthropic, OpenAI, Microsoft, AWS, Google is your own to manage. Smaller entities are uncompetitive and cannot have the benefits Juma has as a platform.

For Juma to protect your interest, your LLM usage needs to go through the Juma model subscriptions, not your own.

Why Flows aren't part of your current plan

Flows use the Juma Agent and cannot work without it. They work differently from a standard chat.

When you run an flow, the agent plans the job, picks the right model for each step, runs the work across multiple passes, and hands you a finished output (a PDF, an Excel file, an HTML preview). A complex run can be the equivalent of 500 standard chats in terms of what's happening under the hood and can use 100 different models.

To orchestrate reliably, we manage and orchestrate the models ourselves. Our bulk contracts with OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc. cover Zero Data Retention, no usage caps, and the ability to route tasks across models mid-run.

When you use your own API key, we're not in that loop. We don’t know your usage limits and many people on BYOK have been hitting them regularly when performing harder tasks.

We can't guarantee the same execution, the same data protections, or the same output quality.

Instead of providing you with an expensive broken product, we’ve decided to give you a cheaper bug-free one.

How to switch so you can use Flows and Juma Agent

If you want access to Flows and the Agent, nothing will change for you.

In fact, your bill will likely go down.

Right now you pay Juma $0/month and separately pay OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google for your usage. On the credit plan, all of that moves to one place.

You still pay $0/m but you’ll pay Juma for usage across all models (GPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and more) and you can cancel your direct subscriptions to those providers.

A few things that come with it:

• One vendor for all AI usage, all models
• Zero Data Retention covered by our direct agreements, something a standard consumer subscription doesn't give you
• No model caps or tier restrictions
• Access to all 700+ Flows: SEO articles, LinkedIn carousels, campaign reports, audience briefs, delivered as finished files
• The Juma Agent, which works through a task from start to finish without you having to manage the steps
